Toileting Policy

Please ensure your dog has done his toilet business before I come to groom him. If he needs the toilet whilst grooming he becomes agitated and uncomfortable which makes grooming difficult and he is likely to toilet on the table.

De–Matting Policy

I groom humanly. I will attempt to de-mat a coat only once and only if I feel that the dog will not suffer pain. To de-matt a severely matted coat would cause the animal tremendous stress and discomfort and will leave the coat thinned and damaged. Shaving the coat is quicker and gentler on the dog. Many animals are traumatised by unnecessary hours of de-matting, putting them off grooming for life. I consider shaving an act of kindness. It is the owners duty of care towards their pet to maintain their pets coat between professional grooming. If owners fail to attend to their pet’s coat, then in the interests of the animal, I will shave off a matted coat. I will more than happily show you how to look after your dog’s coat. I do not de-mat puppies, infirm/elderly or aggressive dogs.

I WILL NOT PUT YOUR PET OFF GROOMING FOR THE SAKE OF ONE PART OF HIS GROOM eg. IF YOUR PET OBJECTS TO HIS NAILS BEING CUT THEN I WILL NOT FORCE YOUR PET, BUT I WILL ADVISE YOU TO HAVE THEM DONE BY YOUR VET.

Aggressive Dogs Policy

Dogs that show aggression will be muzzled for their safety and mine. However, if your dog only objects to his feet being trimmed, but he is ok for everything else, then I will only muzzle him for his feet, the rest of his groom will be without a muzzle.

Cancellation Policy

Please call me straight away if you need to cancel.

I require 24 hour’s notice when cancelling a scheduled appointment; otherwise a £15 will be charged for the missed appointment. Wasted appointments mean NO INCOME for me and therefore NO LIVELIHOOD so I implement this policy strictly. Thank you.
